A Wintery Weekend in Ottawa

Over the Family Day long weekend Tom and I went to Ottawa where we were hosted by our lovely friends Chris and Katherine. Ottawa is the furthest east Tom has been in Canada. We had a wonderful time catching up with Chris and Katherine in their new home and we were joined by Kevan and Jodi later in the weekend.

On a sunny Sunday afternoon we all fell in love with the Rideau Canal. Well, all of us except Kevan. We wrapped up our skating with beaver tails. Sweet and oily vegetarian tails sprinkled with sugar and lemon juice. Yum!

Chris and Katherine showed off their athletic skills on the curling rink. Some of us may have been too enthusiastic about the cheap beer sold at the community rink. The picture on the top right gives a sense of this enthusiasm.

As well at seeing some of the sights in our national capital we enjoyed staying up late talking, playing a board game, eating delicious food, and relaxing. We had a great weekend with great friends.

Well, AF, if you click to enlarge the second collage you will see that Kevan has a very unsatisfied look on his face. He did not fall in love with the canal as the word bubble might suggest. Or maybe he just smelt something strange, which is possible among a group of vegetarians.

Ottawa is the place to be in the winter! It makes me smile to see your pictures and to imagine the conversation and fun that would have been had.
Nice!
