In early May I was able to participate in a conference for Learning Specialists. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas with people in similar positions as me and share my ideas about how to enhance students' use of technology for learning. The best part about the conference was that it was in Calgary. Thanks to Laurier I was able to spend a few days with my family. The trip fell on two very important days, Mother's Day and Alana's birthday.
Many of my photos from this trip are of a little boy. He captured most of my attention because I think he is the cutest little boy. For instance, who could resist pinching these knees!

The weather was beautiful on Saturday. We decided it would be a great day for a picnic in the mountains.

| Realizing that he can control his hands. Open, close, open, close, pause, and wiggle fingers! |
After a delicious picnic beside the lake we went for a short hike. Little K rode in a backpack kid carrier on his Dad's back for the first time. He seemed to be pretty content with the mode of transportation.

| There are those knees again. The pudgy hands are so sweet too. |

The picnic by the lake, hike around Lake Minnewonka and supper at Melissa's was just enough time in the mountains to satisfy my craving for tall rugged peaks (at least for a short while).
Leah's parents hosted us for a Mother's Day bbq. We had bbqed salmon, asparagus, salad, a lovely cheese spread with apples (made by me) and a white cake topped with fruit for dessert. Lawn games was a theme for the evening. We played testicle toss, more appropriately known as ladder golf and bocce ball. Little K worked off his supper with some tummy time.

It was too short of a visit but I enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks Laurier!
